Enquiries, quotations and bookings. In the first instance please contact us by phone or email with your requirements. We will confirm our availability and provide a quote by phone or preferably by email. If you accept we will send an invoice to you showing the details of your booking. We will ask you confirm the details of the booking are correct as per the paperwork. If an invoice has not been raised you have no booking.
A deposit of 10% of the hire fee is payable upon booking at our discretion. The whole or the balance is due for payment on the day unless we have agreed to vary this condition.
Cancellation by hirer.
If you wish to cancel or amend the booking the following charges will apply in relation to the total hire charge:
- One month or more before hire date no charge, 8-28 days 10% of hire, 1-7 days 50% of hire, day of hire 100% of hire. If you cancel you must have written acknowledgement from us of the cancellation otherwise you still have a booking.
Cancellation due to inclement weather.

In the event of an emergency we may return all monies paid and without further liability cancel the booking contract.
Driver’s driving and resting times.
For your safety and to uphold mandatory regulations we provide our services in accordance of these parameters.
The maximum number of passengers allowed on the vehicle is indicated on the vehicle. Standing passengers are not permitted. We will not carry excess passengers.
Variation of hire.
If the vehicle is detained late by the hirer or used for a longer journey than contracted we will make an extra charge.
Conduct of passengers.
The driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle. Any passengers whose conduct is in breach of statutory regulations will be removed on the driver’s authority. The hirer is responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by passengers during the hire.
We will not accept liability for damage or loss of property left on a vehicle. Any articles of found property recovered from a vehicle will be held at the depot where the vehicle is based and may be collected from there by arrangement.
Change of vehicle.
We may provide a larger vehicle than the size hired at no additional charge. We reserve the right to hire another coach operator to cover the hire.
Breakdown or delay.
We can give advice on journey times but ultimately the hirer’s schedule is used. We do not guarantee the completion of a journey at a specific time and are not liable for inconvenience or loss caused by breakdown or delay.
The hirer should endeavour to seek a solution at the time by seeking assistance from the driver. If this does not provide a remedy submit your complaint in writing within 14 days of the termination date of the hire to our depot at Abacus Coaches, New Fox Depot, A1 southbound, South Witham, NG33 5LN.
Retention of vehicle.
Unless stated do not be assume the vehicle will remain at the destination until time for the return journey.
The route used is at the discretion of the driver unless the route has been specified.
We do not permit alcohol on our vehicles.
Seatbelts must be worn in accordance with the law.
